This is us, this is
the Chiemgau
Cycling, hiking, walking or simply relaxing by the lakeside?
The region on the ‘Bavarian Sea’ is worth a visit at any time of year.

Hiking
Smugglers' Trail, Chiemsee View and Glacier View - these are just three of the countless hiking trails in Chiemgau. They lead to vantage points, along lakes, through moors, to the peaks of the Chiemgau Alps and in the footsteps of salt workers and smugglers. More than 80 serviced alpine and mountain huts cater for the physical well-being of hikers. If you want to make the ascent to the mountain pastures and peaks easier, there are numerous mountain lifts to use.

Winter
The fact that many people have been spending their winter holidays in Chiemgau for decades is also due to the high snow guarantee in the Alpine valleys, the modern ski lifts and sports facilities as well as the many opportunities to discover unspoilt nature away from the pistes and cross-country ski trails on snowshoe or ski tours.

Cycling
1400 kilometres of signposted cycle paths and 20 adventure cycle tours are the reason for the ‘RadReiseRegion’ award from the German Cyclists' Association. The tours combine cultural, culinary and scenic features and lead off the beaten track through idyllic nature and to beautiful vantage points.
